Press - Innovative Interactive Documentary for SBS

Melbourne, January 5th 2011 - Transmedia production company Chocolate Liberation Front (CLF) delivers the ground-breaking interactive documentary Building Multicultural Australia for SBS.

This full screen film experience is entirely interactive. Users can not only watch the film but add specific items in the documentary into the ‘My Project’ tool to create their own documentaries and presentations. The project is exclusively available online in the SBS Documentary Portal:

The project forms an integral part of the multi-platform Immigration Nation project.

Building Multicultural Australia was produced in association with The Refugee Council, Renegade Films and The Immigration Museum with the support and assistance of Screen Australia’s National Documentary Program, The Screen Australia Innovation Fund, Film Victoria and SBS.com.au.

The three-hour interactive documentary explores the premise that modern Australia has been dramatically defined by migrants. From the country’s wine industry to its politicians, from the struggle for water to the introduction of transportation networks throughout history. This despite anti-immigration policies such as ‘The White Australia policy’. This online documentary accompanies the three part linear series ‘Immigration Nation: The Secret History of Us’ produced by Renegade Films for SBS.

Building Multicultural Australia comes hot on the heels of the launch of CLF’s recent launch of ‘The Wild Kratts webportal licensed to PBS Kids in the United States www.pbskids.org/wildkratts and TVOntario in Canada http://www.tvokids.com/games/wildkratts for the Kratt Bros and 9Story Entertainment.

CLF is currently in production on an Asylum Seekers Simulation for SBS Online, and in development on a 13 x 30 min animated television series for ABC TV, two interactive projects in Canada and two online projects in Australia.
